History

Emerging Education Equality (“E3”) was founded in January 2008 by a group of friends who recognized the educational deficiencies in the developing world. Our organization’s mission was firmly established after witnessing first-hand the deplorable conditions during a trip to Oñondivepá, our current project.

Lacking funds, schools such as Oñondivepá languish with deteriorating facilities and an absence of even the most basic supplies. Working with community leaders and businesses, we realized that a relatively small amount of funding could have a dramatic impact on these schools. We also realized that our support program could be replicated in other emerging regions tailored to the schools’ specific needs. Thus, E3 was born.

We currently have volunteers working in Boston, New York City, San Francisco, Washington D.C., Shanghai, China and Singapore. The E3 team is continually looking to expand our network. Ultimately, it is our diverse network that is most vital to spreading the E3 mission and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our organization.
